Avery Delano Andrews was born in Massena, New York in 1864 and practiced law in New York from 1891. He served as a Police Commissioner for the City of New York from 1895 to 1898 and served as General Counsel for the Barber Asphalt Paving Co. from 1897 to 1902. He was a partner in the firm of Andrews & Wells. Following graduation from West Point, he had a distinguished military career, retiring as a Brigadier General after service with the American Expeditionary Services in 1917-18.
Schofield Andrews was born in 1889 at Governors Island, New York. Schofield attended Harvard College and obtained his law degree from the University of Pennsylvania. He was a founding partner of the firm of Ballard, Spahr, Andrews & Ingersoll in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
